April Book Round Up

It is such a double win when you can use the same tactics and tricks at home as you do in your classroom. Double the results, but not the work!

Ever since both kids were little we had a book box that I would fill with books that tie in with the month. We do it at home, but I loved doing this for my students, too!

Now when the month rolls over I am always excited to share what we put in our book box with YOU!

As March leaves us and April takes its place, it can only mean one thing: It's time for another book round up, and you guessed it, I just had to pull out my book box.

Spring Time Books:

Are You A Bee? is another adorable April favorite. It pairs well with the plants and animal units that are popular in April, and it's also part of the "Are You A ...?" series. So if you like it, there's more to explore, but this one I made lesson plans for: Are you a Bee?

Of course April is an egg-citing month, so I made up some great activities to reuse those plastic eggs.

Most of these activities don’t require many supplies, a lot of them will use things you already have, and your students are going to love all of them!

My son Nick was also born on April 22nd, Earth day, and he has always loved getting to share a holiday with his birthday. It was an easy segue to reading lots of great Earth Day books and doing things together to help the planet.

Our most read book is probably King Leonard's Teddy. A wonderful book all about reducing, reusing, and recycling, which is perfect for Earth Day!
